MM: Soundcloud Randomness 6

A lot of time has passed since the last time that I have posted some music on here.
(And yes I'll do a mixture of posts in German and English now because I know at least a few people - especially my dear Lithuanian friend - who are interested in reading my music posts.)

So I thought, to start again, I'd do another round of Soundcloud Randomness. However, there were more songs in my "Likes" list than I expected. So I tried to pick out the best of the best and create a nice playlist.
Overall, at least to me, this playlist doesn't seem that random somehow and could also be called Soundcloud Smoothness/Gangsterness.
Especially outstanding are this time:

- "older songs" that I rediscovered such as Vic Mensa's Holy Holy, Jean Grae's U, Me & Everyone We Know and Talib Kweli's Colors Of You
- the highly emotional tracks such as Denai Moore's Elsewhere or ESKA's This Is How A Garden Grows
- the big surprise of a rapping Idris Elba on Skepta's Shutdown (I really didn't know that he also raps)
- the Brass Knuckle Brass Band's take on James Blake's Retrograde
- the simple beauty that Chiara Noriko presents in Colors At Night
- the DAMN sexy "Explosives" by the Potatohead People
- The Wow's weed smokers' anthem "Trees"

As always it's best if everyone listens to the mix and finds their own favourites.

This is not an end, it's a new beginning

So, wow, I left Nancy 1 and a half weeks ago and I still do not realize that it's over. For this reason and the fact that I haven't done this in a while (and especially not in English), it was so hard for me to write this. Anyhow, I feel like I need to do this and try to sum up my feelings about these past months.

Before I decided to go to Nancy, I had literally never heard about the city as well as all of my friends so everyone thought that I am a little crazy for doing this. I looked at the whole thing in a really German way because I thought 1. you will have your bachelor's degree one semester earlier and 2. it will probably look good on your CV. When I started to google Nancy, I have to admit that I got a little scared because it is a rather small town in the middle of nowhere. AND it was actually never my plan to go to France.

Now that I am back that going to Nancy was probably the best decision ever.
First of all, the city was nothing like I expected. I personally thought that it is rather beautiful, especially Place Stanislas of course, and I loved all the things that were always going on there. It felt like almost every weekend there was something else and by participating in the Nancy Jazz Pulsations I definitely took advantage of this. This experience was really fulfilling because I broke my own barriers in very many ways.
What made the experience in Nancy really amazing and one of a kind, however, were the people that I've met there. Starting with my roommate Lucie and her boyfriend Florent, who have helped me with everything and that I have had the most amazing talks with. They were the first people that I have met in Nancy and they greeted me by preparing a very nice dinner for me but giving me all the time and space to get familiar with the place. I couldn't have wished for a better roommate!
I hope everyone else will not be mad at me for not being mentioned here but it would take too long to mention everyone.
I loved the whole programm that I was in and how we felt like one big family, everyone being more or less connected to each other. I look back to a lot of amazing parties in rooms not made for the amount of people in there which is why in a lot of cases we were hiding from the police. I look back to some really nice dinners - and even including the ones that I hosted, the Korean dinner will still stay the best one! I look back to being called for help (enjoyed being the Mommy :D ), I look back to calling people for help, to now knowing to not drink red wine, to funny group works, singing and dancing in the school hall, being future global decision makers, pretending to not speak English, talking very bad French to random people, cheese fondue, singing in the middle of Place Stand (Rude or also the German national anthem haha), being supported while taking my stupid follow me arounds, falling while skiing in Morzine, just hanging out for only ONE hour before going to bed, a lot of fierce dance battles... there are too many things!
We are all so different but still we managed to have the best time ever.

I am very sorry that I did not say good bye to everyone, but I am pretty sure that in any case, it is a see you soon and not a good bye. Plus: I just really suck at saying good bye :D
I just want everyone to know, even those who I wasn't that close with, I am more than thankful that you became a part of this journey and that you made a part of it amazingly special.

Right now I am planning my next "move". As soon as I know where the wind will blow me, everyone is more than welcome to visit me!
